Trinity Rear Body Posts

Notice the rear body posts

Another look at the rear posts

Benefit: They don't bend like the stock part.
Part Number For The Posts: Trinity Part #TK5107
Total Install Time: 5 Minutes

First Impressions: When I opened the bag from Tower, all I could think was how pretty
the posts were. They are blue aluminum and come with 2 posts, a middle section that the EZ
start connector screws into, 2 body pins, 2 set screws, and a sticker. I couldn't help but feel
stoked when I looked at the stock unit.

Assembly: The instructions do a good job of explaining how to put the 3 main pieces together.
Myself, I took the stock unit and used it for the measurements. You take the middle section and
put it onto the 2 posts and use the 2 set screws to hold the middle to the posts by means of pressure
(the set screws do not thread into the posts themselves, it's a pressure tight fit). It's an easy procedure. Take
my advise and use Loctite on the set screws or you will loose them (like I did).

Installation: Once you have the 3 main pieces assembled, replacing the stock part take about a
minute. Make sure you note what hole you have the stock posts are secured by so you can put the new
posts in at the same height. You also have to put the EZ start connector in the new posts using the old screws.
All in all, its really easy and takes almost no time.

Performance: Well what can I really say? I did some running without the body on my maxx and
had it on its lid more than once. I have my posts set high so when I go on my lid, the truck skids on the
body posts. I figured after the first time on its lid (on pavement) the anodizing would be gone. I was
wrong! The anodizing held up to at least 5 good rolls and skids. Best of all, they didn't bend like the
stick plastic posts. Trinity has made nice rear posts. The really nice thing about them its that they actually
fit unlike the bent plasticposts (maybe because they are straight). Once I put the body on the posts worked
like you would think they would. hey fit into the shock towers like the stock unit and perform like the stock
unit but when it comes to hitting things or rolling or even the eye candy effect, the Trinity Posts shine through.
I only had one real problem with the posts. The set screws both fell out and were lost. I didn't use loctite or
anything else and just tightened them by hand. I don't know if it was my fault, but I do know that Trinity does
not say anything about using a thread locker. Learn from my mistake and use a thread locker.

Likes: When I consider the fact that my stock plastic parts are bent so bad that the body don't
fit anymore, I like the fact that the Trinity parts are straight. For real though, I like the tough blue
anodizing and they eye candy that they add. I like that fact that when I rolled with no body the posts
didn't bend and the anodizing didn't come off on the first roll. When I put the Trinity parts in they fit just
like the stock parts so  hat was also nice. The directions are pretty detailed but should include the thread
lock tip. The last thing that I liked was the extra body clips since I lose clips every time I run my Maxx.

Dislikes: My main complaint is that the set screws don't hold. It's not that they don't fit, its that they
just vibrate right out of the holes. It might not sound like a big deal, but when you're an hour away from
any place that stocks small screw and washers and your EZ start connector wont connect because the
connector on the truck just moves, it gets really annoying. If you lose the set screws included, get a longer
cap screw and use a flat washer then a lock washer and don't forget the thread locker. I haven't lost mine
since I switched to this set up.

Comments: I was kinda upset that my brand new rear posts fell apart before I even had my
first tank of fuel gone (after the install of the posts). Since I have switched to using longer screws,
washers, and thread locker, I have been very happy. I feel that I have got my money back out of the Trinity
posts since I have yet to bend them and the anodizing is still there minus a scratch or two. If your looking for
some new rear body posts, you might want to try the Trinity units. I recommend them.
