Benefit: Lots more bashing protection for the trasmission.
Part Number For The Trans Plate: No Part # (ask for the satin trans plate)
Total Install Time: About 5 Minutes
First Impressions: When I saw the price I was sceptical. So when I opened the package I was
very surprised to see how thick this trans plate was. The plate has nice smooth edges, counter
sunk screw holes and screws. I had a good feeling about this unit.
Assembly: N/A. You get a a trans plate, what more could there be?
Installation: The install was a cinch. One note, you will need to make sure you have it positioned
correctly (as in the plate is made to go on with a front to front and rear to rear fit) or it wont set
on the lower braces correctly. Also, Im using the stock braces right now and the plate works
perfectly with them. When I get some aftermarket braces, I will check the fit. The install was very
easy and the included screws work like a charm.
Performance: Well, I have stated before that Im not insane with R/C vehicles. Thats not the case
anymore. I wanted to test these but the weather was not cooperating so I had to improvise. I went
to the tool box and grabbed my claw hammer (DONT TRY THIS AT HOME!!!! This is for insane
people like me ONLY!) and wrapped it with an old sock. I grabbed my T-Maxx with the new trans
plate installed, sat it against the couch, took aim and let a nice blow loose. I didn't unleash the
fury of god on it, but I did give it a good wack. I didn't really want to look, but I did. Wow was I
surprised when I looked. Not even a scratch was left. Hmmm, I thought I had better hit it harder.
WACK! Again, not even a scratch. Well, I smacked a couple more times and didn't leave any
marks. I decided that I would try hitting the plate with just the edge of the face of the hammer.
WACK!!! Nothing. WACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (as in if I was hit like that, it would be lights out). Finally I made
a slight mark where the hammer hit the plate. It was only a scratch on the satin finish, but I wasnt
going to push the matter any farther. You might be asking yourself what in the heck does this
have to do with climbing rocks, jumping, or any other thing I might do with a T-Maxx. Well, look
at it this way, Jump off a 10 foot high jump onto a rock pile at full speed and see how well your
trans hold ups. This test wasn't real world R/C, it was worse. Trust me when I say I beat the
crap out of that thing. The only thing that might be worse in the real world is there isnt socks
on stones or any other obsticles you might run over.
Likes: Lets see here. The price is awsome. The durability is just nuts (good nuts). I like the way
it looks on the truck. I like the fact that after repeated hammer beatings all it had was a scratch.
Dislikes: Hmmm, it makes me look weak since I didn't really damage it with a hammer.
Comments: You still may be shocked that I took a hammer to the Full Force R/C trans plate.
Well, so am I. I don't like to abuse things in this way, but I wanted to see how they would hold
up under some sever abuse. I would not take a hammer to the transmission itself, that would be
plain stupid. However, the plate is made to take this degree of abuse and it shows. I love this
product. I beat it with a hammer folks! It didn't break or bend, I just scratched it. If your into
extreme T-Maxx fun or just looking for that add protection, I recommend the Full Force R/C
Trans Plate!
